Yep, you read that right – April 1st isn't just April Fools' Day for me, it's the fateful day, six years ago, that I took the leap into my true calling: jewelry. I woke up that morning with a fire in my heart, knowing that this was what I was meant to do. With unwavering passion for the world of jewelry, I wasted no time and marched straight into the Department of Revenue to kickstart my journey. And just like that, EK Jewelers was born!
But let me tell you, the road to success wasn't paved with gold from the get-go. Oh no, it was a journey filled with hustle, determination, and more than a few twists and turns. Rejection from other job applications? That just fueled my fire to hustle harder. I transformed my humble wet bar into a makeshift goldsmith bench and scoured trade shows like a woman on a mission. It was a lot of hard work, but every step of the way, I knew I was inching closer to my dream.
I gave myself a year to make waves before diving into brick and mortar, and when November 2019 rolled around, I proudly opened the doors to my very own store. But before that, I was meeting clients in parking lots, coffee shops, and even bank offices – anywhere I could bring my vision to life. Shoutout to my casting friend in New Jersey for recognizing my hustle and talent, even from afar. And let's not forget the incredible support from friends, family, and fellow jewelry vendors who lifted me up during those early days.
